Our birthday princess

I am late posting an update on Eva! Her first birthday was in late July as my first trimester sickness hit. I realized I never got around to posting really anything during that time, and wow have the days flown by! I feel like it was August, I blinked, and now we're putting up Christmas lights! Miss Eva has such a little personality and her Daddy, Mommy, and brothers enjoy her so much. Watching the three of them play together is such a joy sometimes I think my heart could burst! Eva had a fun birthday party with our families and there is no question her highlight was eating the cake. ;) Our little brown eyed girl runs, twirls, hugs her brothers, eats crayons when I'm not looking, sings, loves to read, never stops moving... We can't imagine life without her! There is just something different a little girl brings to the mix. She is just soo sweet!

"But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." Mark 10: 14-15

Two and a half

Today is the last day our sweet second born is two years old. Tomorrow, Zeke turns three which he said officially makes him a "big boy." ;) I found this sweet poem online, and it just melted this Momma's heart!

"Two and a Half"
Hold him a little longer
Rock him a little more
Tell him another story
(You've only told him four)
Let him sleep on your shoulder
Rejoice in his happy smile
He is only two and a half
For such a little while!

In other family news, we found out baby number four is going to be a boy! The boys are excited to have another wrestling partner, and Eva is still the little princess... for now! ;) We are rejoicing and thanking God for another healthy baby and His many blessings!!

Happy Summer!!

We have been enjoying our summer as a family and keeping things pretty simple 'round here. Our big purchases have been a new sprinkler and baby pool for the kiddos. ;) Matt came up with the idea, and we have loved just sitting and watching them squeal with delight. Our bigger news is that we have a new little one arriving in March! :D We have already stayed up later than needed deciding names. Matt and I just can't help ourselves and wish we knew from day one if the baby is a boy or girl, one or more! In true Ezra fashion, he has decided we are having two boys. His younger brother seriously explained that Mommy could not fit any more than that in her tummy. ;) We are thanking God for this newest blessing!

After tucking in the boys, we have come to expect their giggles coming from the room till they fall asleep. I walked by their room tonight just to hear this conversation...

Ezra: Zeke...Zeke...ZEKE!
Zeke: yah?
Ezra: I love you.
Zeke: Wuv you.

That just made this Momma's day. :)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

For some odd reason, I can't seem to post pics of the kiddos like I used to, so I guess I'll be posting them this way for now! We'll see how it goes. ::smile::

Our baby is four!

I will most likely say this as each one of our kiddos has a birthday... ;) But I can't believe our baby is four!! Happy Birthday to our first born, Ezra Matthew! We have been gifted such a tender hearted and fun loving fellow. He is someone that we are thankful his younger brother loves and copies. Like giving their baby sister sweet kisses on the head. ::Momma's heart melting:: Ezra has so much energy and still does not require as much sleep as the rest of the family. Matt and I laugh about what he'll probably end up doing someday since the Lord made him this way for a reason. I can't wait to see how it turns out, but I don't want to wish away these precious little years either! It has been so much fun watching Ezra grow from a baby to a little boy. We love you, Ezra, and we are so thankful for the four years the Lord has allowed us to love and care for you!

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

First sleepover!

Ezra and Ezekiel had their first sleepover the other night...with Daddy on our living room floor. Eva and I were not invited as it was for boys only. ;) The boys must not have understood the sleeping part of the deal, for Matt said none of this occurred. Who sleeps at a sleepover? Daddy must be misinformed. ;) His highlight of the night was waking up to Zeke trying to stick his paci in Matt's mouth. It must have been pretty fun, no sleep and all, since Matt told them they could do it again sometime. Thanks to Aunt Mikala for the great idea! I hear the Polca girls enjoy the occasional sleepover as well. :)

Update on baby Eva

Our sweet princess Eva is soon approaching six months old. Wow is time flying by or what! I've often heard that as parents we blink and then our kids are grown. I really feel like that already. Especially with our first baby about to turn four! Just can't believe it. I try to remind myself everyday how fast our little ones won't be so little. I want to soak in every minute because one day, Lord willing, they'll have their own families and we'll have a quiet, immaculate house. I'm just so thankful for the wisdom of others that have encouraged us to enjoy this beautiful chaos. :)
