I am hoping to post pictures on here soon. :)The Bost Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13790439425331270474noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2789348464882850367.post-46071440575603533802015-02-22T19:27:00.000-08:002015-02-22T19:27:13.639-08:00Happy 5th Birthday, Ezra!Has it really been five years already since our first baby was born? Ezra ended up with two parties this year, since the snowy weather we've been having made driving impossible. But being the social butterfly that God made him, he seems more than happy to host multiple gatherings. And Eva gets to have more cake, so a win-win situation for all!;) Ezra is such an encouragement to the family with his never ending enthusiasm for life and love for others. He is quick to get an item for a younger sibling without being asked or something out of reach for a much pregnant Momma. ;) We love to brag on him because we know all these are qualities are innate in him from the Lord and nothing of our doing! It has also been fun getting to have deeper conversations with him and to hear him share his little heart. We were encouraged by a friend the other day who's first born had just turned 18, and as she squeezed her very tall "baby" reminded us how quick these years go by. I am thankful for these reminders as it's easy for me to get caught up in the day to day busyness. Happy Birthday to our sweet baby!

Song for a Fifth Child
by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Her first birthday was in late July as my first trimester sickness hit. I realized I never got around to posting really anything during that time, and wow have the days flown by! I feel like it was August, I blinked, and now we're putting up Christmas lights! Miss Eva has such a little personality and her Daddy, Mommy, and brothers enjoy her so much. Watching the three of them play together is such a joy sometimes I think my heart could burst! Eva had a fun birthday party with our families and there is no question her highlight was eating the cake. ;) Our little brown eyed girl runs, twirls, hugs her brothers, eats crayons when I'm not looking, sings, loves to read, never stops moving... We can't imagine life without her! There is just something different a little girl brings to the mix. She is just soo sweet!

"But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." Mark 10: 14-15
Tomorrow, Zeke turns three which he said officially makes him a "big boy." ;) I found this sweet poem online, and it just melted this Momma's heart!

"Two and a Half"
Hold him a little longer
Rock him a little more
Tell him another story
(You've only told him four)
Let him sleep on your shoulder
Rejoice in his happy smile
He is only two and a half
For such a little while!

In other family news, we found out baby number four is going to be a boy! The boys are excited to have another wrestling partner, and Eva is still the little princess... for now! ;) We are rejoicing and thanking God for another healthy baby and His many blessings!!
Our big purchases have been a new sprinkler and baby pool for the kiddos. ;) Matt came up with the idea, and we have loved just sitting and watching them squeal with delight. Our bigger news is that we have a new little one arriving in March! :D We have already stayed up later than needed deciding names. Matt and I just can't help ourselves and wish we knew from day one if the baby is a boy or girl, one or more! In true Ezra fashion, he has decided we are having two boys. His younger brother seriously explained that Mommy could not fit any more than that in her tummy. ;) We are thanking God for this newest blessing!
I walked by their room tonight just to hear this conversation...

Ezra: Zeke...Zeke...ZEKE!
Zeke: yah?
Ezra: I love you.
Zeke: Wuv you.
That just made this Momma's day. :)
Happy Birthday to our first born, Ezra Matthew! We have been gifted such a tender hearted and fun loving fellow. He is someone that we are thankful his younger brother loves and copies. Like giving their baby sister sweet kisses on the head. ::Momma's heart melting:: Ezra has so much energy and still does not require as much sleep as the rest of the family. Matt and I laugh about what he'll probably end up doing someday since the Lord made him this way for a reason. I can't wait to see how it turns out, but I don't want to wish away these precious little years either! It has been so much fun watching Ezra grow from a baby to a little boy. We love you, Ezra, and we are so thankful for the four years the Lord has allowed us to love and care for you!
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10
Eva and I were not invited as it was for boys only. ;) The boys must not have understood the sleeping part of the deal, for Matt said none of this occurred. Who sleeps at a sleepover? Daddy must be misinformed. ;) His highlight of the night was waking up to Zeke trying to stick his paci in Matt's mouth. It must have been pretty fun, no sleep and all, since Matt told them they could do it again sometime. Thanks to Aunt Mikala for the great idea! I hear the Polca girls enjoy the occasional sleepover as well. :)The Bost Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13790439425331270474noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2789348464882850367.post-63057970184153704092014-01-26T13:37:00.003-08:002014-02-01T12:25:23.703-08:00Update on baby EvaOur sweet princess Eva is soon approaching six months old. Wow is time flying by or what! I've often heard that as parents we blink and then our kids are grown. I really feel like that already. Especially with our first baby about to turn four! Just can't believe it. I try to remind myself everyday how fast our little ones won't be so little. I want to soak in every minute because one day, Lord willing, they'll have their own families and we'll have a quiet, immaculate house. I'm just so thankful for the wisdom of others that have encouraged us to enjoy this beautiful chaos. :)
The boys had such a great time visiting with "Grandpa's Mommy and Daddy." Great Grandpa and Grandma just wouldn't stick! My dear sweet husband purposed to take me to see my grandparents since I only get to see them once a year. We knew we would miss when the rest of my family stayed there in July, so Matt took us down in April. We moved from our first house the week we returned, which is why they are just now being posted!
It is bittersweet to realize he is now big enough to have his own ideas about what his party should be. We tell the boys that they'll always be our babies even when they're both a big daddy someday. They think that's pretty funny and usually giggle while asking us to hold them like babies. ;)
The tiniest baby we've had so far, she weighed a mere 7 lbs 9 oz. We kept commenting what a little peanut she was, and both her doctor and nurses assured us that Eva was plenty big. Our two big guys just made her seem like such a tiny girl! We are so thankful and praise God for her safe delivery. We know from the hardships and losses experienced by others that a healthy baby is a miracle, and we never want to take one for granted.

Ezra: Momma, where's Eva?

Me: She's still in my tummy.

Ezra: She's coming soon?

Me: Yes, bud.

Ezra: I'm going to say, "Nice to meet you." Eva will be my friend. I'll say, "Do you want to play cars with me?" and she'll say, "Okay."
We sold our house (yea!) and moved into Matt's parents' home until we decide what's next for our family. We knew we were quickly out growing our home, but we weren't really sure what the outcome would be if we actually sold the house. We have decided that it makes sense to stay at least until baby Eva is born, and it will be wonderful having the extra help from family only a few feet away! Moving our almost family of five into the beautiful, newly yet 2ish bedroom finished basement has required some creativity and stretching for us. However, I know the Lord is using the situation for good (Romans 8:28- one of my favorites!) to teach me to really live out what we encourage our children to do, and that is to be joyful always and give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16,18). So, it has been my prayer to be able to say along with Paul:

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Philippians 4:11
We are thrilled to be having a sweet little girl, and to be told that she looked healthy and on track to be born August 4th. I've mentioned before that both boys were nine days late, so it will be interesting to see what this little one does. :)

In sticking with the biblical theme, we have choose to name her Eva Faith. Eva is the Latin form of Eve, meaning "life", and Matt came up with her middle name. Hopefully, I don't have to do any editing in the future :), but so far, we think this is it!

And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> I haven't been able to upload photos lately from our camera, so I posted a few more recent phone pics. It's gotten pretty busy around here since we decided to list our house for sale. Keeping a musuem like home with a 2 yr old and 1 yr old is an exciting goal! We've only been listed for a couple weeks, so we'll see what happens. We recognize that whatever the outcome is not the whim of fate, or the will of man, but the work of God, and we can rest in that. :)

Zeke at age one. :) I thought it would be cute when I found these to see how the boys compared in looks at the same age. It's precious having Ezra to cheer Zeke on as well instead of just me at new milestones. Even though Zeke's been feeding himself for a few months now, Ezra still exclaims, "Yea! Zeke did it!" when he eats his yogurt in the mornings. It puts a big grin on Zeke's face too. ::Mommy's heart melting::

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I was excited to discover tonight that Shutterfly will send you a ten dollar credit if you post your Christmas card! So, I hope you like it, and I really hope Matt likes it. He won't be able to approve it for nine more days when he comes back from Argentina. They were having such good sales, so I just couldn't wait! Yes, I am already thinking Christmas in October. It just becomes so crazy for us as December gets closer, and I'm trying not to <strike>cry</strike> <strike>worry</strike> think about Matt flying to another continent as I write this! Please be praying for him and the others while traveling and during their mission trip to Buenos Aires.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Matt's favorite Bible verse:

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 The Bost Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13790439425331270474noreply@blogger.com0
